Interview: ButtonOwlBoutique

Please tell us a little about yourself and why you started to make things for kids.

Hi,  My name is Roz and am the creator of Button Owl.  I live just outside London, with my two daughters (2 and 4 years old) and my husband.
I have always loved to create since I was little and was inspired by watching my mother sew beautiful dresses for me.  She used to allow me to choose the fabrics which I absolutely adored.

Interview: Petitacosa

My name is Ingrid and I am Mexican. After living in Barcelona for six years I moved to London a year ago. I have worked for years in the design and publishing industry and I also practice yoga.

I learnt how to crochet two years ago in Barcelona during my recovery from a back problem. I spent a lot of time either sitting down or in bed, so I bought a hook, wool, a crochet book and visited a lot Youtube videos! I fell in love with yarn and the idea of creating things.

Interview: Woodland Tale

Please tell us a little about yourself and why you started to make things/art for kids.

My name is Kate, I live in Crimea, the most beautiful part of Ukraine. I make little stitched creatures and build little nests and sell it in my Etsy shop, Woodland Tale. Actually, I never thought I would be making things for kids.  It just happened that kids decided my softies are good enough to make friends with. My first stitched creatures were herbal sachets, Sage Fox and Lavender Bunny – they were not meant for play, but children loved how they look. And I started creating embroidered toys and dolls without herbs to make them more suitable for kids.

Interview: Claireoncloud9

I am Claire Halson and I live with my husband Mark, and our four daughters - Emily (15), Alice (8), Grace (4) and Lily (2).

I’ve always been artistic and worked as a freelance Artist before joining the world of ‘proper’ work! From as young as I can remember, I have been painting, drawing and creating my own items. The clouds came about when I was designing one of my girls’ bedrooms and wanted a cloud and raindrop theme. I couldn’t find anything that I liked and so I made a few clouds and a mobile, and Claireoncloud9 was born!

My name is Mieke Kockelkorn. I live in a very nice city in the south of the Netherlands. Since I was very young I have been making clothes. First for my dolls and later for myself, friends and family. So when I grew older I went to study Fashion And Textile design at the art academy. After graduating I started working in the costume department at the opera company. I learned a lot there and had a lot of fun too.

Interview: Andreavida

I am Andrea from Budapest, creator of funny pets and charming dolls. I'm graduated as teacher of arts and mathematics - it is a strange combination, isn't it? I used to work with numbers and computers for years, but arts and crafts remained my passion forever.
I've been sewing since I was a little girl, as my grandmother and mother did. I've always been wearing my own handmade clothes, and when my children were born - almost twenty years ago - I started to make clothes and toys for them, too. Now my daughter and son no longer play with my toys and but I can't stop creating new dolls and plushies.
